Vern, your family looks like my family. I am down from all the John Russells. They were from NC,KY, TX,NM, AZ. My Grandmother was born in 1870. Rachel Elvira Russell. Her father was John Russell, who fought in the Civil War at 16. We have the cheekbones, eyes, and general body style of your families. I believe we are Cherokee. There were many preachers, and I have an uncle named Vernor. He was born about 1890.
