I've been told Ida's family did own several beusiness at one time. As for Bill,,,,,,,,,he died of exposure,,,,,,,there had been a snowstorm and he was going to his barn and lost his way, Anyway,,,,,from what I've heard when they found him he was as good as gone. His death cert. said he died of "stamation & exposure". He was the youngest child in a family of 3,,,,,only son of Sylvester & Mary E. Brown Russell. I don't know alot about Bill,,,,has heard things but you never know what is fact & fiction (saying that tongue-in-cheek here)has heard that Edmund was indeed his son but he & Ida were not married at the time,,,,,,later marrying when he was quite abit older. His sister, Nancy Agnes Russell, was my great grandmother. I'm hoping to go to Ironton the end of this month,,,,,,,the Briggs library has a wealth of info there,,,,,,,,,especiall! y those phone directories.
