    3. John Hunt Russell & Jane (maiden name unk) were married in or before 1798. William Thomas Russell was one of their 10 children. Two of WTR's children were Downes Nurse Russell & Edward Richard Russell. One of Downes' 7 children was Egard Norton Kingsley Russell. One of Edward Richard's was Kenneth Bertram Russell who married Eliza Davey. All of these Russells were from the island of Barbados, West Indies. Kenneth Bertram Russell migrated to the USA and is believed to have died in Providence, RI. Downes Nurse Russell's granddaughter was in the possession of a genealogical chart. The first person appearing on the chart is William Sinclair, brother to 11th Earl of, what appears to be, Caithness. Among some of the family names which are linked to the Sinclairs on this chart are: Russell & Callander. All of these family names appear in the records of Barbados. Unfortunately no past member of the family noted the connection between Downes Russell and the Sinclairs from one of the British Isles. If no connection, why did his granddaughter possess the chart?? Kenneth Bertram Russell was my grandfather's brother...that is my connection with the Russells. Oral history has it that two brothers originally came from Scotland and settled in Barbados, owning small sugar plantations at that time. Records show that these early Russells were "Planters". I am primarily interested in any information on John Hunt Russell. Was it he and a brother that were the original Russells in Barbados, or was it his father and uncle who came there first? I am also interested on any information on Kenneth Bertram Russell and his wife? Of course I will be glad to share what I have on the Russells from 1798 in Barbados, should there be an interest.
