    1. [RUSSELL] Ella Williams
    2. This is a message I have been sending for years without anyone responding. I keep tryin maybe someone In Anderson or Elwood Indiana will react. I'm interested in Williams family in Indiana. Some of my Williams family may have connections between having been located in Illinois then migrating to Indiana. My Grandmother was Ella Russell Williams. I have never been able to correctly identify her parents and consequently where she was born. I believe, however, that she was born about 1862 and I know she was married to John Williams in 1883 in Tipton, Indiana. John deserted his family some time around 1901 and was absent until 1927 when he was found, returned home in Elwood, Indiana and died there that same year. Ella and her three children lived in Elwood, Indiana for many years. Subsequently she moved to Anderson Indiana and was a resident of that city at least in late December 1941. After that date the trail ends for me. Carrie Williams, Ella's first child, married Ben Kennedy in March 1901. They had one child. Glen Kennedy who passed away in 1948 in Tampa, Fla. Ben died early in the marriage and is buried in Elwood. Carrie remarried in 1933 to a fellow named Emery Lee (nickname "Curly" ) Matthew's. Carrie passed away in 1959 in Elwood and "Curly" followed in 1969. Ella's second child was Cora Edith Williams who was my adopted mother. She first married a fellow named Omer Robinson in 1912 and they divorced about 1915. In 1923 she married my father, Edward Paul Jennings from Tipton, Indiana. She died in September 1936 in Troy, Ohio. She is buried in the Fairview Cemetery in Tipton, Indiana. The third member of Ella's family was a son named Herschel Williams. He also lived in Elwood for years but accompanied Ella to Anderson, Indiana. He passed away in Middletown, Indiana in July 1962.
