Hello fellow researchers, Looking to connect with other fellow researchers of the Russell family from Ohio and Indiana for a possible connection with the John D. Russell b. 1816. John Russell stated in the census that he was born in Ohio yet one of his daughters stated in a later census that he was born in Indiana. John D. Russell married Lucy Ann Montague before 1839 and quite possibly in Indiana. From other researchers, it is stated that they married in Tippecanoe, Indiana though I have not been able to locate that marriage. Their first child, Joshua L. Russell was born in Indiana but I have not been able to locate a location exactly. Their second child was born in Missouri, either Andrew or Atchison County. Family file John D. Russell b. May 18, 1897 in Fremont Co., Iowa daughter of James and Catharine (Sheets) Montague. Both buried in Mt. Zion Cemetery, Fremont Co., Iowa. Children Joshua L. Russell b. November 6, 1860 in Atchison Co., Missouri I have quite a bit of family information on the children as well as the Montague line and would be willing to share what I have as I have been working on this family for a couple of years now. Martha Evelyn was my g-grandmother and is where my line comes down from. Recently found a book on Russell Family History in which it pertained to a John Russell Sr. b. bet 1760-1770 who moved from PA to Adams Co., Ohio and by 1830 was in Scioto? Co., Ohio. In 1840, this particular John Russell was living next to his son Alexander in Fayette Co., Indiana. I am curious at this point to find out if this Russell family could be a connection to the John D.
