Hello! I am old, and the computer/internet is new, and my attempting to use same is brand new. I seek what happened to these Russells after the 1860's? John H. Russell, the father had died here in October 1859. The oldest daughter, Mary Ann Russell had supposedly just got married. The 1860 census for Cocke County, Tenn., District 8, PO Newport, page 379, June 1860, Dwelling and Household 90, reads- - - - - Matilda Russell 36 F W NC Elizabeth " 16 F W NC Leander M. " 14 M W NC Margaret 13 F W NC William N. " 9 M W NC Harriet J. " 5 F W TN A courthouse fire in Newport destroyed all of the marriage records, and thus the married names of all of these young ladies are lost to my research efforts. Said fire was in 1876, which was even too long ago for me have to got the info before fire. This family came up from Buncombe Co. NC about 1854. I have searched for many many years for these answers. One of these above, came alone to Indiana in winter of 1865/6, my family. Others history unknown?!! Would appreciate any help. Thank you. An Old WWII vet, Dick
