Greetings. I am new to the list, trying to find out more about one of my ancestors, James Russell, who was living in Davidson Co. TN area with his wife Miriam and numerous children in early 1800's. Both James and his wife are supposed to have been born in Tennessee 1815-1817. I do not have any name for the father of James but suspect the father may have been a very early resident of the area. The Cumberland compact lists a James Russell as one its signers in 1780. Does anyone on the list have expertese in these early Russells in Tennessee? I would appreciate any help.
