I am still trying to find any RUSSELL who moved from Ct to Va or WV in the late 1790s or early 1800s. My ancestor is Samuel Russell (he usually spelled it with one L.). He was born in 1820 though I believe he had siblings born in 1810 and 1814. He says he was born in Va (before WV) and his mother was Elizabeth. His father is completely unknown except that he was born in Ct. Samuel Russell lived his life in the Coal River area of Kanawha County WV (Charleston, WV) he was a farmer and then a grocer and then in the middle of the 1860s he became a physican. He was married at least two times, Once to Sirena Turley and then in the mid 1860s he married a widow Nancy Cobb and they had four daughters together, Edna, Lillian Ann, Maggie and Lottie. I have been searching for 25 years and still cannot find any trace at all of this mans father. Anyone have any suggestions or ideas. Pat
