    3. Have been trying in vain to find my great grandfather's siblings. If anyone has any suggestions... He was James Joseph Russell b. Nov. 1, 1862 in Wilmington, DE to Edward Russell and Sarah McCormick Russell (both b. Ireland). James shows up in his Uncle Timothy Russell's household on the 1880 census in Hoboken, NJ. Edward and Sarah had died 1874 and 1872 respectively. James had said that he was orphaned and that his siblings "scattered". His siblings were: Thomas Russell b. May 19, 1859 in Wilmingtin, DE Sarah Russell b. Sept, 18, 1861 " John Russell b. Nov. 1, 1862 (James' twin) in Wilm. DE Patrick Russell b. Apr, 2, 1865 in Hoboken, NJ Martin Russell b. Nov. 7, 1867 in Wilm. DE Mary Russell b. Feb 6, 1870 in Wilm.DE The only contact I believe James had with his siblings was with Mary. She became a religious sister and he had a picture of her. I had checked orphan court records but they show nothing. What does that mean? Didn't young children have to be appointed guardians when their parents died? If no records are on file, would that mean they were taken in by family? Any ideas? Thank you, Elizabeth Russell Forsyth
