Stephen Taylor Russell b. 3-2-1847 in Warren County, TN m. Nancy Caroline Lane (b. 3-12-1851 in Kingston, Arkansas. Stephen's father was King David Russell b. 4-17-1815 in Marion County, TN and he m. Mary Roberts (b. 1820, d. 1853). King David's father was John Russell b.3-5-1787 in Dunlap, TN. He married Rhoda Newberry (b. 4-3-1789) on 8-8-1805. Now this is where it gets kind of tricky. My research has led me to believe that John's father was Mathew Russell that was b. 1735 in Ireland. He married Jane McIntire (b. abt 1744 in Ulster, Ireland. and d. 7-5-1812 in Pendleton, SC/ Anderson County) I show that Mathew's father was Andrew Russell b. 1715 in Augusta Co, VA. He married Jean Mitchell (b. 1718 Ireland). Some believe that this isn't the lineage. However, all of my research so far, which isn't proven yet, has led me to believe the above is true. I haven't been able to go beyond Andrew. I would be happy to help further if you would like. May I also know what your line is into this family? Stephen Russell was my GG Grandfather.
