She remained on their farm and in 1871(?) remarried to John S. Russell. In the 1880 US Census they have two children, Naomie and Berecenies, in addition to Sarah's 18yr old daughter (my gr grandmother, Effie James (Virginia)(Holt) Newsome). I have a piece of mail from them, which the postmark places them in cooper County, Missouri after April 1887. i also found a land grant record dated 1872(?) that shows that a John S. Russell purchased over 136(?) acres (not 160) in Camden Couonty, Missouri. Again any info. would be great. Joe Neagle Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Yes it is possible that my grandmother, Ella Russell Williams could have been born in Illinois or lived there after her marriage in 1883. However, she was, according to the 1900 census reported in Elwood, Indiana and married to John Williams. My adoptive mother's death certificate indicates she was born in Illinois in 1895 or 1898 depending on who you believe. She passed away in 1936 and I assume my father contributed her birth location for the certificate. He passed away in 1976.
