His children, Alexander, Peter Paul, James and AnnEllen were given what to my mind seem Scottish names. Just throwing this out there. I've checked an A.J.Russell who was in Ottawa at about the same time but he was Protestant. Yet to find parents of Robert (born about 1803 per marriage age). July 25, 1810 in Stretham, Ely, Cambridgeshire, England; married Joseph Trickett of Pentrick, Derbyshire; d. June 25, 1867 in Spalding, West Lincolnshire. Family lore has it that she is a cousin of some sort to Bertrand Russell. I don't know her parents' names! Her children were: Harry Robert, Anne, Mildred, and Edith -- Trickett. Any clues? I've searched the ancestry of Bertrand Russell and can't figure out where she might fit in. Maybe the Bertrand Russell thing is just a family myth. Joseph Trickett was an engineer. Married Watson Judah Wimbish in VA. Moved to Henry Co, Tn. Watson died there ca 1850. >From searching Ancestry it looks as if Judith's parents are George Russell and Margaret Walters since that Judith Russell shows as being married to Watson. I did a search of the Russell book found at Google Books and it didn't bring up George. George shows to be born 1776 in Virginia and died 24 Aug 1812 in Halifax County, Virginia. Margaret shows to be born 1765 in Halifax Co., Virginia and died Jun 1843 in Halifax County. None of what I found on other trees at Ancestry had records to prove or disprove any of what I posted. Married to an Ellen, they had three children Nancy (bc1826 and my ancestor), John (bc1829) and Mary (bc1831). I cannot find anything else about him except that he was dead by the time of Nancy's marriage in 1856, worked as an overlooker and was not, according to the 1841 census, born in Lancashire. I belive the James Buckley you refer to is actually Joseph Buckley Russell. He was my great grandfather on my mother's side. His daughter Ethel Delight Russell married Gilbert Wambolt and came to United States through Boston, MA. Their daughter Phyliis was my mother. Abigail Ellen Julie(a)n was the daughter of Luke (Luc) Julie(an and Delight Griswold from Chezzetcook, Nova Scotia. I have a picture of Joseph Buckely and his son Joseph Buckley Jr who went to California and was an actor in silent films. I am trying to find the parents of Joseph. All I have is a reference to a Joseph and Sarah as the parents of Joseph Buckley on the marriage records when he made Abigail (she was Abigail Foster - widow) at the time.
