    1. [RUSSELL] Andrew Russell (Kentucky and Tennessee)
    2. My earliest known Russell ancestor is Andrew Russell, who married Hannah Hardgrave in Lincoln County, Kentucky in 1799. Andrew and Hannah lived in Pulaski County, Kentucky until about 1814-1815 or so. Andrew Russell was in the War of 1812, in Tunstall Quarles's company, Second Regiment, Kentucky Militia. They then moved to Davidson County, Tennessee, where Hannah's parents, Francis and Sarah Hardgrave, were living. By 1820 Hannah was head of household, so Andrew Russell had probably died. I don't know who Andrew Russell's parents were or if he had any siblings. I am working on identifying the children of Andrew and Hannah. I have identified four of them already, but there are 3 more that were in the household in 1820 (two girls and a boy) that I have not conclusively identified (I have suspicions but no real evidence), and 2 more girls who were in the household in 1810. The children that I know of are Sobrina Russell, born about 1810 (the mother of my ancestor Amanda Russell, who I believe was an illegitimate child); Malvira Russell, probably a bit older than Sobrina, who married William Carrington, and then later married William Sawyer, the father of her two sons-in-law; Mills Russell, born about 1802, who married Margaret Harding and had moved to Caldwell County, Kentucky by 1840 and then to Livingston County, Kentucky by 1850, and died there in 1852; and James Russell, born about 1817, who married Miriam. I would like to identify the parents, siblings, and children of Andrew Russell. I would also like better proof of the identity of Amanda Russell's father (I believe he was a man named James Sawyer). If anyone knows anything about this family or thinks there might be a connection, please let me know. Thanks! Beth Gatlin

    2. I must have missed some information about enlarging the font in E-mails. Could it please be repeated so that I can TRY it? I am legally blind, and so many E-mails and web sites have such small print, that I just have to skip them entirely. It would be good to know a way to correct that. Thanks, Wilarlie K.
