    2. <<Anyone recognize this Blount Co., TN Russell? B.M. Russell age 43 b. TN living in Blount Co. 17th District 1850 Farmer He was the census enumerator for at least part of 17 district. The only other people in his household were Wm. Jenkins 23 Fanny Jenkins 19 John Jenkins 1 Sarah Jenkins 21 James Jenkins 1 It appears likely that Fanny and Sarah are the same women that are living with the twin 1 year old boys James and John in District 15 of Monroe Co. in 1850 in household of James Jenkins. They were counted in HH of James Jenkins on 5 Nov 1850 and in Blount Co. on 20 day December 1850. James Jenkins was in Blount Co. for 1840 census. Thanks, Judy <<< I don't recognize the Jenkins family, but I believe that B.M. Russell was Barclay McGhee Russell. My great-great-great grandfather. He was born in 1807 and was the son of Hance Russell and Elizabeth McClanahan. He married Ann/Nancy Saul/Letner (there is question about her name) and they had several children.

    1. [RUSSELL-L] Samuel Russell born 1820 son of Elizabeth
    2. I am looking for the husband of Elizabeth and the father of Samuel Russell and Jane Thornton RUSSELL. Samuel was born about 1820 in Va and Jane was born in Feb 1814. I find Elizabeth Russell as head of the household on the 1830 Census of Kanawha County (WV) Va at that time. Jane Thornton Russell will go on to marry in Ross County Ohio in 1842 Robert Patterson FINLEY. She spends the rest of her life there. Samuel Russell stays in Kanawha County and he marries a Turley girl in 1848. They name their sons Lafayette, Daniel jackson, and Francis, their daughters Mary Jane (Molly) and Martha Ann Gelia. Sam is a farmer first on the census then a grocer and in 1860 he is a physician. His first wife dies and he marries again a widow and they have four little girls together. Edna who marries a Horton, Lillian Ann who marries a Mr Lynn, Maggie marries a Mr Conner and Lottie who is only 3 when her father dies in 1883. She marries a Mr Prince. The only clues I have as to who Samuels father was is that he stated on the 1880 Census that his father was born in Ct. two of his children say that their grandfather was born in NY A grandson says that his grandfather was an Englishman. Any help would be so appreciated. Pat
