She is believed to be born 28 APR 1828 and Died 30 Apr 1906. She is buried in the North Kempner Graveyard in Lampassas County Texas. She is thought to have been born in Hawkins County TN She is thought to have been married in Hawkins County TN. However, To my knowledge there is no Bible record of the Same. She and my GreatGrandFather T. J. are on the 1850 Hawkins county Census. The family is believed to have lived near the town of Rogersville TN. They remove to Sonset, Pulaski County KY in 1852. They were accompanied by brothers John,(a married man at that time and Hiram C (a single man at that time) WHITIS and the brother-in-law Clairborne RUSSELL Families. She signs a TN land deed with an X in 1882 after the family is removed to TX in 1881. Her oldest daughter Sarah marries Dorman BULLOCK. This family remains in Pulaski county KY. On 7/3/02. Georgia Hornbuckle had a listing of Adam Russell's family. She descends from his son, Andrew Russell, Sr., and she shows Adam's other son as William Russell b between 1710 and 1725. My ancestor was William Russell, Sr. b abt 1715 and died in Halifax Co., VA., in 1777. His will dated 7 March 1775 was filed 20 Mar. 1777 in Halifax Co., VA. Listed in this will is wife Anne (thought to be Anna Buckner) and children; William, Jr., Anna Light, Sarah Walters, Lucretia Dodson, Buckner (Mrs. Hornbuckle shows him as a son of Andrew.), Elizabeth, Judith Bennett, George, and Absalom. Although there was a lot of Russells in Virginia, I have never been able to prove the father of William Russell, Sr. I descend from him as follows: William Russell, Jr. b abt 1740 in Brunswick Co., VA , Ephriam Russell b abt 1775 in Pittsylvania Co., VA, William T. Russell b 1805 in Lincoln Co., KY., Emiline Jane Russell b 1833 in Henderson Co., KY., (unmarried when her son was born), William Wesley Russell b 1858 in Henderson Co., KY, Albert Wilson Russell b 1883 in Marion Co., IL, James W. Russell b 1902 in Marion Co., IL., and Donald R. Russell b 1923 in Jefferson Co., IL. I hope this helps Mrs. Hornbuckle and any other Russell's descendants that are working on this line. Very interesting message. But this web site is international. What country did James (Rusdsell) RUSSEL and Sara ELLIS get married in and have their children? Sounds like England but your references are to Virginia. And if James (Rusdsell) RUSSELL was born in 1859 how did he marry Sara ELLIS ca 1783?
