Look up John Grandivac Russell m. Mary Christian abt. 1776 in SC, at www.lds.org in the International Genealogical Index - North America. His son was Caleb Russell b. 29 Aug 1789 in SC, m. Nancy Wilson 14 May 1818, which fits with the info on our family line. There are three daughters born in GA around 1810, which also fits. Now if we can just find documentation... -----Original Message----- From: Mary Jo Fraley [mailto:mfraley@calpha.com] Sent: Sunday, October 27, 2002 7:24 PM To: RUSSELL-L@rootsweb.com Subject: [RUSSELL-L] Russell Family Of Early S.C. Saved me about $1000.00 over the last 8 years. You can ask for a copy of the index and then request the pages or if you already have the page number, then you can get it right away. Be sure to ask fo rth frontspiece or title page ( if you want it, I always do). Just ask for the form at your FHC. Good Luck, Ley

Does anyone know of an Allen Russell in 1846 TX? I found mention of him as witness to a land sale in Cherokee County, TX at that time. The land purchaser was Samuel C. Box, and his second wife was Nancy G. Russell Box. I am still trying to find which Russell family that she connects to, and maybe this Allen is a clue. Thanks, Mary Jo
