Family records state that her parents were: Joseph (or William) Russell born abt. 1775 in Unknown Mary Parrish born abt. 1776 in Unknown (Mary's last name might possibly be Ailes) Family records say that both Joseph and Mary were born in New York and probably married there. Although I have found no records of their deaths, it is said they died after moving to Elizabethtown, Hamilton County, Ohio in 1808 leaving 6 young children. The names of the Russell children are: Elizabeth Russell born 14 June 1803 Campbell County, KY William Ailes Russell born 6 Nov. 1807 D. Dearborn Co. IN Mary Russell - married Jesse Simonson, lived Preble Co. OH Martha Russell - married _____ Thompson Joseph Russell - Died in War of 1812 Moses Russell - Died young The above information about the children was found in The History of Dearborn County. Elizabeth Russell married Walter Kerr and lived in Dearborn County, Ind. I have much information on this part of the family but nothing on the Russells. My gggrandfather was William H. Russell (b. 1833 d. bet 1871 & 1898). He married Annie M. Bradbury, dau. of Isaac and Abigail Small (Lane) Bradbury. She was b. 3/9/1833 and d. aft 1898. They had 8 children who lived: Emma A. b. abt 1847, Mary A. b. 1855, Jabez Herbert (twin) b. 3/2/1859, Jayson H. (twin) b. 3/2/1859, Charlotte (Lottie) b. abt 1865, Abraham Lincoln b. 1867, William B. b. 1868, and Julia L. b. abt 1881. William B. my ggrandfather married Annie J. Plummer, dau of Charles H. Plummer and Lavinia (or Leona) Bachelder. She was b. 12/1/1873 in Linneus, and d. 1/25/1962 in Troy, Maine. If these folks fit anywhere into your tree, I would love to know the particulars. I am most interested to see who may have been William H. Russell's siblings and parents. There is a possibility that he may have been included in the 1870 Census as the 2 year old son (making the birthdate correct) of Boardman Russell and Marcia A. Russell. This same Boardman Russell (Age 14) is shown on the 1860 census as the son of John Russel (note 1 l.) and Margaret Russell. The 1850 census showed John Russell and Margaret had a son Dana B. Russell (age 4)...could he be later known as Boardman? If any of this "clicks", I'd love to hear from you. Author: msmartins Surnames: Russell, Garrett Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.russell/5979/mb.ashx Message Board Post: I am researching my Russell line which reportedly may be from Lunenburg VA (or area) and was in Williamson TN. I am looking for the father of my James B Russell (b. ca 1808, VA), married 1824 in Williamson, moved to Hinds MS, and d. 1853 in Franklin LA. I am trying to find if and how the Williamson TN Russells are connected and how or if they are connected to Lunenburg (I did find reference to a connection with I believe Philip Russell of Lunenburg). In 1820, I find these Russells: Pleasant Russell (26-45) Elam Russell (26-45)appears to be listed twice Jeremiah Russell (26-45) James Russell (45 ) Benjamin Russell (45 ) In 1830, I find these Russells: John Russell (40-50) Jeremiah Russell (30-40) Elijah Russell (30-40) Benjamin Russell (50-60) James Russell (20-30) there are two males this age- believe this is my James B Elam Russell (40-50) In 1840, I find these Russells: Matthew Russell (40-50) John Russell (50-60) Henry Russell (20-30) George Russell (20-30) Elijah Russell (40-50) Benjamin Russell (60-70) My James Russell was now in Hinds Co, MS >From here and there info, I find that Pleasant Russell was born in 1779 in Bedford County, VA s/o James. John was born abt 1785 in VA and was married to Susan. Jeremiah was born ca 1794 in VA and wife's name was E (Elizabeth?). Elijah was born ca. 1800 in VA and wife was probably Delilah Garrett, which I believe is the sister of Sarah D Garrett, my James B's wife. Interestingly, James and Sarah had children Elijah Jefferson, William Ryley, Pleasant G, and Benjamin F as well as Nancy, Mary E, and Augustus D. Another interesting note is a decendant of Pleasant Russell:Benjamin Franklin Russell (whose father was Robert Curren Russell) ended up in Elam County, TX where a decendant of James B also resided: Robert E Lee Russell (who had an uncle Benjamin F). Would love any additional information on any Russell family that resided in Wiliamson County, TN any time during the early 1800's.
