Mary was my grandmother. I replied on your other post. Email me if you see this. I know it's been a while since you posted. Hoepfully, you get this. In your other post, you mentioned Koreck. Margaret actually married a Koreck. That's how the relation ties in. I actually used to know Christina until she died. Christina mentioned her mom, Jane, but they called her Jennie. And you can actually find out a little more if you look under both names, Jane and Jennie separately. (That's how it's spelled in the records.) I may be able to help you and you might be able to help me. We're definitely related somehow. I hope to hear from you. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. 1. [RUSSELL] OSTBY - RUSSELL Family Photographs
    2. Shelley Cardiel
    3. I've "rescued" two old photographs belonging to the OSTBY. EVENSON, and RUDI Families of Arkansas and Wisconsin. The first is a photograph of John J. OSTBY which was taken at the W. J. Perrings Studio in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. The photograph appears to have been taken in the early 1900's with John likely in his 40's at the time it was taken. In addition to his name, someone has written "original settles in Long Enlo, Holmen, Wis" and "My Uncle" and "Mrs. O. C. EVENSON" and "he was my father's brother both of them sons of the original pioneers who were of the first to arrive from Hedemarken, Norway" and "Their parents Jens and Tonetta OSTBY are buried in the Long Cooley Cemetery close to the entrance to the Cemetery, at the right" and "My Aunt Oline wife of Gortheon SWENSENGSON (Gorden) is also buried at that Cemetery" and "My Father and Mother were Mr. & Mrs. Cornelius Johnson OSTBY" and "Mollie OSTBY - wife of O. C. EVENSON of La Crosse, Wis". The second photograph is one of Mollie OSTBY and Amalia RUDI of Westby. The photograph was taken at the Boston Art Studio in La Crosse, WI, probably sometime in the 1890's or early 1900's with Mollie listed as 15 years old at the time it was taken. In addition to their names someone has written "taken with roommate while attending the La Crosse High School then located on 8th and Main". Based on limited research I was able to locate the following information regarding this family: John J. OSTBY married Emma Virginia RUSSELL on 30 Jan 1905 in Jefferson County, AR. Cornelius Johnson OSTBY b. about 1851 in Long Coulee - Holmen, WI and married Olena EVENSTAD in about 1876 in Long Coulee - Holmen, WI 1920 census of LaCrosse, WI: Ole C. EVENSON, age 37, born WI, parents born Norway, an Oil Co. Clerk Mollie EVENSON, wife, age 34, born WI, parents born WI/Norway Marjorie EVENSON, dau, age 5, born WI I am hoping to locate someone from this family so that these wonderful old photographs can be returned to their care. If you are a member of the family, or you know someone who might be, please contact me. Thanks, Shelley

It does seem that Prince spent his later years with children in both Pittstown and Fly Creek. More importantly, I downloaded the book "The Howland Heirs" that you mentioned and found my great-grandfather (George Russell). He was one of two adopted sons (the other was David Russell) to John Russell, who was a son to Prince Russell. This confirms stories of an adoption that I have from living descendants of David. Now begins the search for information about the adoptions! Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. 1. [RUSSELL] RUSSELL Family photograph
    2. Shelley Cardiel
    3. I've "rescued" an old photograph of Chas Theodore RUSSELL which was taken at the McCormick Studio in Boston, Massachusetts. The photograph appears to have been taken in the 1880's or 1890's with Mr. RUSSELL appearing to be in his 60's or 70's at the time. Based on limited research I was able to gather the following information regarding the subject of the photograph: Charles Theodore RUSSELL b. 20 Nov 1815 in Princeton, MA to parents Charles Theodore RUSSELL (b. 4 Mar 1793 in Princeton, MA) and Persis HASTINGS (b. 27 Nov 1793 in Princeton, MA). Charles married Sarah Elizabeth BALLISTER (b. 24 Mar 1817) on 1 Jun 1840 in Dorchester, MA and together they had 10 children including, Sarah Ann; Elizabeth Ballister; Sarah Ann; Josephine Emma; Sarah Louise; Charles Theodore; Joseph Ballister; Henry Edwards; William Eustis; and Clara Sumner RUSSELL. The children were all born in Boston, MA except Clara who was born in Cambridge, MA, all between 1841 and 1860. Charles died 16 Jan 1896 in Cambridge, MA. I believe that he was a State Representative, Senator, and Mayor of Cambridge at some point in time as well. Census records provide the following information: 1860 census of Cambridge, MA: Chas T. RUSSELL, age 45, an Atty at Law, born MA Sarah E. RUSSELL, age 43, born MA Elizabeth RUSSELL, age 18, born MA Josephine RUSSELL, age 13, born MA Sarah RUSSELL, age 12, born MA Theodore RUSSELL, age 9, born MA Joseph RUSSELL, age 7, born MA Henry RUSSELL, age 5, born MA William RUSSELL, age 4, born MA + 2 servants 1870 census of Cambridge, MA: Charles T. RUSSELL, age 54, a Lawyer, born MA Sarah E. RUSSELL, age 50, Keeping House, born MA Joyce E. RUSSELL, age 23, no occupation, born MA Sarah L. RUSSELL, age 21, no occupation, born MA Charles T. RUSSELL Jr., age 19, a College Student, born MA Joseph B. RUSSELL, age 18, a clerk, born MA Henry E. RUSSELL, age 14, at School, born MA William E.
