    2. Looking for information on the ancestors of Aaron Rush, who was born 8 Dec 1826 in Monroe County, Kentucky and died 27 Aug 1896 in Ringgold County, Iowa. I have a couple of different versions but don't know which is correct. Would also be interested in information on the ancestors of Aaron Rush's wife, Nancy Melvina Hammer, who was born 10 Feb 1829 in Clarke County, Kentucky and died 7 Mar 1910 in Ringgold County, Iowa. They were married 10 Feb 1847 in Monroe County, Kentucky. Any information would be appreciated. Thanks. Jay Wight [email protected]

    1. Rush, Warren R. GA>AL>AR
    2. Carolyn Long
    3. Am interested in locating family of Warren R. Rush. Born about 1835 in GA. The following is all that I have found about him. First located on the 1860 Coosa Co., Al census. Abt. 25 with a wife named Mary abt 23. Lucy age 3 and Andrew age 1. There is reason to believe that the 2nd Lt/1st Sargent listed in the AL 17th Infantry Co. D was this Warren R. Rush. The 17th Al (commonly called the "Cochrane Greys") was organized at Montgomery, AL in Aug. 1861. But according to the "Supplement to the Official records" a 2nd Lt. named Warren R. Rush resigned 6/1/1863. RUSH, Warren R. died intestate (no date). A. J. Rush was appointed adminstrator, 15, May 1882. Heirs: A. J. Rush, Hot Springs Co., ; Sara E. CONINE; W. B. Rush: I. J. Holcomb; Addie RUSH; W. T. Rush; J. R. G. RUSH; A. E . L. RUSH, widow. If any of the names are familiar. Please contact me. Thanks, Carolyn House-Long

For those not familiar with this file, it is a fairly accurate list of RUSH's from the 1600's to the 1800's. (7 generations). I would appreciate any information people may have about any of these Rushs and especially information about John George's parents, siblings or ancestors. Thanks. Ann Leuenberger [email protected] I have a website with more information about this family at http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Pointe/8983/ if anyone is interested. 1. John Rush of Alabama
    2. D. Kuras
    3. Wish to exchange information on family of John Rush of Alabama John Rush was born about 1785 in Tennessee and served in the War of 1812. After the War he lived in Tuscaloosa County, Alabama. He married, probably about 1823, and his wife's name was Eliza. John Rush deeded property to James McCullah in Tuscaloosa Co., as recorded in Alabama Records, V-3, on 13 Nov 1823, Book F, Page 97. John Rush and wife, Eliza Rush, deeded property to William Davis on 14 Oct 1828 as recorded in Alabama Records, V-7, Tuscaloosa, Book G, Page 284. It seems likely that John and Eliza moved to Walker Co., AL about this time. The 1830 census for Walker Co., AL lists John Rush age approximately 45. There were 2 males and 3 females under the age of 20 listed. John Rush died in 1836 in Walker County, leaving his wife Elizabeth with a large family. The 1840 Walker County census lists Eliza Rush with males: 1 under 5, 1 under 10, 1 under 15 and 1 under 20, and females: 1 under 5, 1 under 10 and 1 under 30. From the census, we can conclude that Eliza was born about 1810. The names of three of the sons are known: John Rush, Jr., Andrew and Griffin. Griffin went into the Federal army near the opening of the Civil War and did not return home. John Rush, Jr. was 10 years old when his father died of injuries received in the War of 1812. He was bound out in support of his widowed mother until he came of age. He was about 25 years old when he went to Illinois and married Rhoda Davis, daughter of Andrew J. Davis. In 1858 John and Rhoda moved to Roxton, Lamar Co., Texas. Approximate ages of children of John and Eliza Rush using the 1840 census as a guideline: (John had died and Eliza was listed on the census with 7 children) Andrew, born about 1824 in Tuscaloosa Co., AL Griffin, born about 1825 in Tuscaloosa Co., AL John, Jr., born in 1826 in Tuscaloosa Co., AL Female, born between 1830 - 1836 in Walker Co., AL Female, born between 1830-1836 in Walker Co., AL Male, born between 1836 - 1840 Walker Co., AL Female, born between 1836 - 1840 in Walker Co., AL Diane Kuras 4573 Colleen St. Port Charlotte, FL 33952 [email protected]
