Longmont newspaper Longmont, Colorado 06-15-02 Alex Ott, a Longmont native, died Tuesday, June 11, 2002, at his home. He was 88. He was born Oct. 10, 1914, to Henry and Marie Elizabeth (Stuggart) Ott in Longmont. On Jan. 18, 1935, he married Sarah Gomer at her grandparents' home in Denver. Mr. Ott worked for the Kuner-Empson Co. for 35 years. He also worked for the St. Vrain Valley School District until his retirement in 1981. He was a lifetime member of Peace Lutheran Church and was its oldest baptized member until its merger with Bethlehem Lutheran Church, where he remained a member. Mr. Ott was a lifetime member of Longmont Elks Lodge No. 1055. He enjoyed yard work, his flowers and all sports. He especially enjoyed entering weekly football contests. He also was very knowledgeable about the history of Longmont. Mr. Ott was preceded in death by his wife on June 11, 1994; and a sister, Katherine Sisemore. He is survived by a son, Ronald Ott and his wife Marilyn of Sterling; a daughter, Marilyn Miner and her husband C.R. of Longmont; three grandchildren, Mark Miner and his wife Rhonda of Longmont, Kristi Bregman and her husband Paul of Denver and Brian Ott of Denver; a great-grandson, Noah Bregman of Denver; several sisters- and brothers-in-law; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held from 3 to 8 p.m. today, Thursday, June 13, at Ahlberg Funeral Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 14, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, with the Rev.
