Dear Listers, For those of you who have relatives that were not citizens but served in WWI and in some case WWII they may have become naturalized just prior to discharge. At the end of WWI especially a large number of foreign nationals became citizens just prior to their discharge. To locate where these veterans may have become citizens you can access some of the information from there military records from the following web site. There military records may give you the place of discharge as well as the place of the last service. This may help you locate which NARA regional archive the naturalization records are located in. I had three of my relatives become citizens this way after WWI. The web site is at: <www.archives.gov/facilities/mo/st_louis/military_personnel_records.html>. Please read the limitation is not next of kin and the freedom of information act section closely. Sincerely, Gene Jenkins Selah, WA.
