Loveland newspaper Loveland, Colorado 06-23-02 "Boney" Snyder, 96, of Loveland died June 18, 2002, at Loveland Good Samaritan Health Care Center. He was born June 10, 1906, in Banner County, Neb., to Mervyn and Mary Koenig Snyder. He married Ella Mae Brown on Dec. 20, 1931, at Gering, Neb., after courting her for four years, six months and two days. She preceded him in death Sept. 7, 2001, and was waiting to waltz him into heaven to their favorite song, "Over the Waves." They lived in Banner County until retiring from farming 34 years ago. Before retiring, Boney assisted the Banner County assessor and managed the Banner County Weed District. The couple enjoyed their retirement years traveling, spending winters in Arizona and making many new friends. Ella Mae and Boney lived and helped out at the United Campground in Loveland during the summer months. Seven years ago, they made Loveland their year-round home. They moved to Loveland Good Samaritan Village in April 2001. Not many people knew Boney's given name, and if you did call him Arthur, you were quickly corrected. He was an excellent carpenter and enjoyed helping neighbors and relatives with remodeling projects. He loved to fix things, always thinking of ways to make them better. Boney played baseball with the Banner County Farmers and still had the ball he caught that won a tournament for the team. He was a charter member of the Harrisburg Lions Club and a member of the Kimball Masonic Lodge. Boney was a devoted father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He never met a stranger and always stopped to chat. He loved children and always had a "Werthers" for them. Most of all, he will be remembered for singing little jingles, smiles, hugs and his sense of humor. Survivors include a son, Bruce and wife Cherie of Fort Collins; a nephew raised as a son, Richard Brown and wife Lila of Scottsdale, Ariz., and Anacortes, Wash.; a grandson, Douglas Snyder of Mesa, Ariz.; two granddaughters, Brenda Logan and husband James of Parker, and Sandra Mondragon and husband Bill of Castle Rock; a step-granddaughter, Lorri Norberg and husband Junior of Bushnell, Neb.; a step-grandson, Corey Muhr of Fort Collins; six great-grand-children; two step-great- granddaughters; daughter-in-law Lorraine Snyder of Mesa; granddaughter-in-law Evelyn Snyder of Mesa; brother-in-law Robert Brown and wife Gerri of Kimball, Neb.; sister-in-law Doris Norman of Chandler, Ariz.; and many nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Meck, James, Glen and Herbert; sisters Pinkie Brown, Bessie Larson, Ruby Hanson and Susie Eckland; grandson David Brown; and step-great-grandson Joshua Norberg. A viewing will be held 3-8 p.m. Friday at Allnutt Funeral Service in Loveland. Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Monday at the Kimball Cemetery, missionary Don Notz officiating. Viewing will be 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Monday at Cantrell Funeral Home, Kimball. A memorial service will be 1:30 p.m. Friday, June 28, at Loveland Good Samaritan Spiritual Life Center, with Chaplain Maria McLain Cox officiating.
