Longmont Newspaper Longmont, Colorado 01-05-02 Elizabeth Richards Oct. 14, 1909 - Jan. 2, 2002 Elizabeth Richards of Longmont died Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2002, at Longmont United Hospital of complications due to a stroke. She was 92. She was born Oct. 14, 1909, to Henry and Barbara (Walters) Dietrich in Russia. On March 5, 1944, she married Walter P. Richards in Longmont. They traveled to many places with the U.S. Army, settling in Longmont in 1960. Mrs. Richards was a homemaker and worked briefly at New Method Cleaners. She enjoyed doing cross-stitching, latch-hook and word-find puzzles and playing bingo at the Beatrice Hover Assisted Living Residence, her home for the past few years. An avid Broncos fan, she was a caring and loving person who enjoyed her family and friends, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mrs. Richards was a member of LifeBridge Christian Church. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1964; five brothers, Conrad, George, Jake, Edward and Robert; and a sister, Mollie Leinweber. Mrs. Richards is survived by a daughter, Diane K. Lee and her husband Larry of Frederick; two grandchildren, Richard and his wife Valarie of Fort Morgan and Laurie of Longmont; four great-grandchildren, Brittany, Zachery, Brendan and Austin; a niece, Elaine Vogel and her husband Ron of Longmont; three nephews, Robert Dietrich and his wife Betty of Northglenn, Eugene Dietrich and his wife Liz of Denver and Ronald Leinweber and his wife Judy of Longmont; numerous great-nieces and great-nephews; and her friends, Vince and Pam Preston and Jane and Rick Rodgers. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. today, Friday, Jan. 4, at Howe Mortuary. Funeral services will follow at 12:30 p.m. at Howe Mortuary Chapel, with David Bradshaw of LifeBridge Christian Church officiating. Burial will follow at Longmont Mountain View Cemetery.
