    1. [Rus-Frank] children's book research/roll call/settlement
    2. My great grandparents, Anna Elizabeth SCHAEFER Lesser and Jacob Frederick LESSER were born in Frank in 1868 and 1860. My great-aunt Anna was born in Frank in 1891. Jacob and Anna Elizabeth applied for US citizenship in Kansas in 1892. My grandfather, Frederick Adolph Lesser was born in Lehigh, Kansas, Marion County in 1898. His sisters Evelyn and Lyla were later born in Warden, Washington (near Ritzville.) His other brothers were Adolph and Theodore. He grew up in the Warden, Ritzville, Moses Lake area of Eastern Washington. He later moved to Seattle to go to college. He met my grandmother while living in Spokane. They later moved to Seattle and raised their family. His brother Adolph (Happy) Lesser (b. Lehigh Kansas, 1893) died in Colville, WA in 1964. Anna Elizabeth ran a boarding house (in Moses Lake? Colville?) and died in Colville in 1932. Evelyn and Lyla moved to California - no children. If anyone knew them, would love to hear. I am researching for a children's book which tells the story of Frank, Russia from its beginning in 1767 to its end in WWII. The story is told through the eyes of the daughters and great great granddaughters through the generations. It traces these great great (etc.) granddaughters through the years in Frank, to Siberia, to Germany and to modern day US. I would be interested in any information about details of life in Frank - of any period, as well as details of the lives of those later exiled or emigrated. If there is anyone who would like to share their stories I would be happy to hear. Thanks, Laura Hurley lkh@qwest.net (address will be changed to lkhurley@msn.com in two weeks.)
