Pastors in Frank & Brunnental As printed in the Brunnental Village Newsletter, May 1998 Issue, edited by Sherrie Stahl, 15234 NW Troon Wy, Portland OR 97229-0917 (Email: sherriestahl@attbi.com) ------------------------------------------------------ Editor's Note: I want to thank Joanne Krieger who lives here in Portland, Oregon for sharing a book she found which gives us the names of the Pastors who served in the various churches in Russia and also has pictures of some of these pastors and their respective churches. In this book, entitled, "DIE KIRCHEN UND DAS RELIGIÖSE LEBEN DER RUSSLAND DEUTSCHEN, by Joseph Schnurr. This particular book was printed in Stuttgart, 1972, and has the catholic (Teil I) and evangelical/protestant (Teil II) sections in the same book. AHSGR also has copies of the book from 1978 and 1980, that contain the catholic and evang./prot. sections in separate volumes. We were able to find information about the various pastors, including the years they served, their birth and death dates (if known), and other interesting facts. You will note under each village it gives the date the church was built first, and then gives the population for the village in 1905. For many of you who have the "family registers" from your ancestral village, you will note the pastors signature at the bottom. Some of you may even have baptismal papers, or copies of the church records obtained from Dr. Igor Pleve in Russia. Information on these pastors will be of interest to you.
