Greeley Tribune Greeley, Colorado 05-18-02 Balthser Hepp, 94, of Brighton died Thursday, May 16, at Brighton Care Center. He was born June 16, 1907, in Schoenchen, Kan., to Nicolas and Dorothea (Bieker) Hepp. On Feb. 12, 1930, he married Catherine Kramer in Brighton. She died in 1996. A farmer in the Brighton area since 1965, Mr. Hepp also worked for Great Western Sugar Co. He was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church. He enjoyed fishing, playing pinochle and Dutch hop dancing. He loved baseball and played for a semi-pro team in Kansas City. Survivors are two daughters, Dorothy Sack of Broomfield and Shirley Stroh of Longmont; four sons, Robert D. Hepp of Firestone, Don Hepp and Tom Hepp, both of Longmont, and Larry Hepp of Brighton; a sister, Catherine Staab of Denver; two brothers, Tony Hepp of Northglenn and Richard Hepp of Brighton; 23 grandchildren; and 47 great-grandchildren. A brother, Alex, and three sisters, Helen Frick, Barbara Getz and Pauline Dreiling, are deceased. Recitation of the rosary will be at 7 p.m. Monday and Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, both at St. Augustine Catholic Church, Brighton. Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery, Brighton. Contributions may be made to the Brighton Care Center, 2025 E. Egbert St., Brighton, CO 80601.
