She spent her childhood in various towns in Iowa and graduated from > Alden High School in Alden, Iowa, in 1937. > > She married Kenneth Barhite on Dec. 31, 1941. They lived in Iowa until 1957 > when they moved to Boulder. She operated the Bo Peep Children's Center in > Boulder from 1959 to 1979. "She cared for and touched the lives of many > children." > > For nine years, she and Kenneth traveled the U.S. with the Mobile Missionary > Assistance Program (MMAP). In 1994, they settled in Longmont. > > She was a member of Grace Evangelical Free Church and was active with the > volunteer programs of OUR Center, Meals on Wheels and the Carry Out Caravan. > > Survivors include her husband, Kenneth Barhite of Longmont; three children, > Dennis Barhite and his wife Sue of Boone, N.C., Jill Barhite and her husband > Ron Barrett of Fruita, Lydia Tafoya and her husband Mark of Longmont; a > sister, Betty Crouse of Fort Atkinson, Wis.; 10 grandchildren; 10 > great-grandchildren and numerous relatives and friends. > > Memorial services will be held 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 8, at the Grace > Evangelical Free Church, 2415 Lake Park Dr., Longmont, with the Rev.
