Loveland Newpaper Loveland, Colorado 05-12-02 Howard Earl Young, 70, of Drake, died May 7, 2002, at his home. He was born Nov. 14, 1931, in Loveland to Walter and Elvira E. Smoyer Young. He married Edith Kessler on Nov. 14, 1952, in Denver. He was a sheet metal worker for Hewlett-Packard from 1970 to 1980. Mr. Young enjoyed fishing, square dancing, handyman work, old cars, traveling and camping. He loved being with his family and loved the Big Thompson Canyon. He is survived by three daughters, Katrina Anton and husband Harold of Thermopolis, Wyo., Kathy Trumble and husband David of Loveland, and Kandi Ochs of Loveland; his ex-wife, Edith Young of Fort Collins; eight grandchildren; and a sister, Betty J. Crow of Loveland. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Christine. Memorial services will be 1 p.m. Monday at Viestenz-Smith Park, 1211 Big Thompson Canyon Road. The Rev. Dennis Anderson of Crossroads Covenant Church will officiate. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association in care of Kibbey-Fishburn Funeral Home.
