He rose to the rank of gunnery sergeant and received > his honorable discharge in 1952 after which he served in the Reserves for > three years. > > He earned his bachelor's degree in accounting from the University of Denver > and rose to the position of vice president at the First National Bank of > Denver and later worked in the cost management section of Martin-Marietta in > both Colorado and California until he retired in 1993. > > He married Ruth Schauermann, also of Fort Morgan, in 1953.
