Star-Herald Scottsbluff 19 Feb 2002 Ruth �Arlene� Kilgore TORRINGTON, WYO. � Funeral services for Ruth �Arlene� Kilgore, 70, will be 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2002 at Colyer Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Peggy Brown officiating. Burial will follow in Valley View Cemetery. She died on Feb. 16, 2002 at Torrington Community Hospital. Visitation hours will be at the funeral home Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Those who wish may direct memorial contributions in her memory to either the Torrington �Waggin� Trails� animal shelter or to a charity of the donor�s choice. Colyer Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Arlene was born June 16, 1931 in Scottsbluff, the daughter of Jacob and Julia (Gettman) Betz. She grew up in Scottsbluff and worked at the Hauke Drug Store. On July 26, 1951, she married Charles Martin Kilgore, D.C. in Ft. Collins, Colo. The couple then made their home in Wheatland, Lusk and Torrington, Wyo. She is a past member of the BPO Elks Lodge, The Women of the Moose and the American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed her family, camping, chili cook-offs, crocheting and playing cards. She especially enjoyed her pets. She is survived by a daughter, Karen Murphy and her husband Bill of Torrington; four sons, Charles Kilgore, D.C.; Kenton Kilgore and Clayton Kilgore and his wife Kerri all of Torrington and Mike Kilgore and his wife Betsy of Castle Rock, Colo.; 15 grandchildren; and one brother, Henry Betz of Scottsbluff. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; an infant daughter, Sandra Gail; a sister, Lydia; and four brothers, Jake, Dan, Ed and Elmer.
