    3. Longmont newspaper Longmont, Colorado 03-30-02 Arthur G. Freese of Longmont died Tuesday, March 26, 2002, at Berthoud Living Center. He was 94. He was born Jan. 3, 1908, to Fredrick and Sophia (Matthies) Freese in Hutchinson County, S.D. On June 21, 1941, he married Wilhelmina Van Veldhuizen in Nebraska. Mr. Freese moved to Boulder County in 1979 from Texas and to Longmont in 1993. He was a printer, working in custom printing. Mr. Freese was a member of Eternal Savior Lutheran Church of Lafayette. He enjoyed working on cars as a weekend mechanic and was an outdoorsman who enjoyed hiking in the mountains and hunting. He was a devoted father. Mr. Freese was preceded in death by his wife in 1967, a brother and two sisters. He is survived by a son, Brian Freese of Longmont; a sister, Norma Franz and her husband Elmer of Denver; and numerous nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 30, at Eternal Savior Lutheran Church of Lafayette, with the Rev. Paul Rhode of the church officiating. Cremation will be held at Ahlberg Funeral Chapel and Crematory. Inurnment will take place in South Dakota. Memorial contributions may be made to Lutheran Hour in care of Eternal Savior Lutheran Church, 1241 Ceres Drive, Lafayette 80026. Back to the top
