Greeley Tribune Greeley, Colorado 04-04-02 : Amalia Pope : Amalia Mollie Pope, 100, of Greeley died Tuesday, April 2, at Hospice and : Palliative Care of Northern Colorado inpatient unit. She was born Dec. 30, : 1901, in Jakodnaj, Russia, to John K. and Mary (Schierman) Kaiser. Mrs. Pope : immigrated with her family on the USS President Lincoln to Argentina, where : they lived for two years before coming to the United States. The family : settled in Bison, Kan. On Jan. 9, 1920, she married Alexander Pope in Otis, : Kan. He died May 16, 1957. Mrs. Pope had lived in Greeley since 1933. A : homemaker, she enjoyed yard work, eating at restaurants and time with her : grandchildren. She often reminisced about growing up in Russia and Argentina : and loved sharing the stories. She attended St. Johns United Church of : Christ. Survivors are a daughter, Helen Rau of Greeley; a son, Robert Pope : of Palisade; a sister, Elizabeth Hay of Brighton; five grandchildren; 10 : great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren. A daughter, Helen, : died in infancy; and two sisters, Pauline and Rachael, and six brothers, : Philip, Ben, Alfred, Jacob, Henry and John, are deceased. Services will be : at 10 a.m. Saturday at Allnutt Funeral Service Macy Chapel. Interment will : be in Linn Grove Cemetery. Friends may visit from 6-8 p.m. Friday and : 8:30-10 a.m. Saturday at the Macy Chapel.
