There are actually three ethnic German populations in Ellis County. The Germans from Russia, the Bukowina Germans and the Germans (from Germany). In Eastern Ellis County, the Germans from Germany and the Germans from Russia co-existed and in Western Ellis County, the Germans from Russia and the Bukowina Germans co-existed.
