    3. Loveland newspaper Loveland, Colorado 10-19-01 : : : Albert "Al" Frank, 83, of Fort Collins, died Oct. 17, 2001. : : He was born Feb. 6, 1918, in Loveland to William and Mary Bath Frank. His : father died in a farming accident when he was 8 years old. His mother : married Jacob Ehrlich, and the family moved to a farm east of Fort Collins : in 1928. : : He married Ruth Deines on Dec. 19, 1937, in Fort Collins. The couple was in : the farming and cattle-feeding business for 28 years in the Fort Collins : area. Their farming was interrupted for six years by a move to Oakland, : Calif., where he worked for the Owens-Illinois Glass factory. He also served : one year in the U.S. Navy. : : The couple retired in 1973 and moved into Fort Collins, where Mr. Frank was : employed with the Colorado State University Physical Plant for six years. : : Mr. Frank was a lifelong member of Plymouth Congregational Church in Fort : Collins. He served on the church council and was actively involved in the : construction of the church. He also was a member of the Veterans of Foreign : Wars and a past member of the American Legion. : : The greatest joy in his life was his family, especially his grandchildren : and great-grandchildren. : : He enjoyed fishing, hunting and gardening and was an avid sports fan. : : He is survived by his wife, Ruth Frank of Fort Collins; a daughter, Beverly : Strobel and husband Calvin of Drake; four grandchildren including Scott : Strobel of Loveland; 10 great-grandchildren; a sister, Dee Southwick of Sun : Lakes, Ariz.; a stepbrother, Reuben Ehrlich of Milliken; and several nephews : and nieces. : : He was preceded in death by a brother, four sisters, three stepbrothers, : three stepsisters, and one great-granddaughter. : : Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Monday at First Congregational Church in : Loveland. : : Private interment of cremains at Grandview Cemetery has taken place. : : Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Larimer County or to the : American Heart Association in care of Reager Funeral Home, 1530 Riverside : Ave., Fort Collins, 80524. : : Back to the top : : : _________________________________________________________________ : Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com/intl.asp : : :
