    3. I was able to find the obit for my grandfather yesterday. And, I was also able to go back one more generation. I was unaware that my grandfather went to KS before coming to WA. This would make sense because of the letter that his cousin Jacob HERMAN wrote to him upon request- a copy of which is below. However, the date in the obit for his arrival and the date in the letter are way off. Any suggestions.? Based on the information below here are my questions: [1] Can anyone help with the ancestor of Johann Georg HERMAN Sr? [2] I thought the three brothers came her together but it does not look that way, what do you think given the conflicting information? [3] Does anyone know who the brother of Johann Georg HERMAN Sr was that was the father of Jacob who wrote the letter. BTW, I am told Jacob/Jakob HERMAN stayed in KS. HERMAN Badly Hurt on Pipeline George Herman, about 50, living at 1331 Third Avenue, Greeley, was seriously injured about 8:30 am Saturday when a bank caved on the Greeley Pipeline, five miles east of Fort Collins. Herman was taken to the Fort Collins hospital where it was found he had sustained a fractured pelvis and possible internal injuries. His attending physician said he has a good chance of recovery, baring complications from internal injuries which had not yet shown up at noon. Herman was employed by the Greeley City Water Department with a crew of about 50 men who are uncovering a section of the Greeley line to cover it with asphalt as protection against alkali. Soil is removed from around the pipe and the covering is done in the trench. Shortly after starting on the job Saturday morning Herman was pinned against the pipe by a caving of the bank. Fellow workmen worked feverishly to extricate him and he was gotten to the hospital shortly after 9:00 am. His hips were crushed against the pipe by the weight of the dirt, but he was not covered much above the waist. Herman was conscious and directed the excavating operations. When first taken to the hospital Herman was suffering from shock and his recovery was deemed doubtful. Later, he rallied and hopes were extended for his recovery. Superintendant, Milt Seaman who arrived at the scene of the work shortly after the cave-in said the accident occurred in the trench dug Friday. It was between five and six feet deep. Herman was cleaning off the pipe preparatory to applying asphalt. Herman has been a regular employee of the water works department for many years. He is an expert pipe layer.
