Mrs. Boos was born Aug. 30, 1904, in New Danhoff, Russia. She was married April 21, 1925, to Mike Boos in Spokane, Wash. She was of the Lutheran Faith. She came to Colorado in 1930 from Ritzville, Wash. She was an excellent seamstress, enjoyed canning and also helping people in need. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Mary Katheran Rutz Reinhart; her husband, Mike Boos in 1995; her sons, Henry A. Boos in 1926 and Donald H. Boos in 1961; her daughters, Irene Williams July 3, 2001, and Thelma Abromski of Longmont; three brothers: John Reinhart in 1920, William Reinhart of Loveland and Henry Reinhart of Sanford, Mich.; two sisters, Lydia Betzold of Brighton and Frieda Ostrander of Fort Morgan, and stepmother, Katherine Klein. There are eight grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at the All Saints Lutheran Church at the Eben Ezer Lutheran Care Center in Brush with private interment at Riverside Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday at the All Saints Lutheran Church. Contributions may be made to the Eben Ezer Lutheran Care Center in care of the Ahlberg Funeral Chapel, 326 Terry St., Longmont.

    3. Hope someone can help me with this. My great, great grandfather came from Frank, Russia. He was born 15 Nov 1868. His name was Jacob Ex. I have not been able to find anything on him. He also had a brother and two sisters that came to the U.S. with him. I am wondering if he changed his surname when he settled here. I think I have been to every website possible! Can anyone tell me where or how I would find this information? Here is some additional details if anyone is interested.... Walker was born Jan. 7, 1926, in Johnstown to Henry and Mollie (Ring) Walker. He attended Johnstown and Kersey schools and married Ruth Weitzel in Greeley Nov. 27, 1949. He lived in Wiggins for 42 years and enjoyed farming, fishing, gardening, hunting, his family and grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Ruth Walker of Greeley; two sons, Tom Walker and Mike Walker, both of Greeley; three daughters: Pam Wright and Susan Rose, both of Greeley, and Sherry Hamilton of Westminster; two brothers, Jim Walker of Wiggins and Larry Walker of Greeley; five sisters: Elaine Fendell of Greeley, Norma Harshman of Delta, Darlene Gibson of Ada, Okla., Patty Lorenzini of Greeley and Pat Rothe of Montrose. There are 17 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Henry Walker; three brothers and one sister. Funeral services will be held Monday at 10 a.m. at the Greeley Christian Church with interment in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Ellenberger of Longmont died Tuesday, July 31, 2001, at Longmont United Hospital. She was 75. She was born in Los Angeles on July 16, 1926, to Chris and Mae Heinsbergen. After high school, she attended college at the Art Center School of Design in Los Angeles. On Oct. 27, 1947, she married Robert Jack Ellenberger in Los Angeles. Prior to moving to Longmont in 1997, Mrs. Ellenberger lived in Benedict Canyon in Beverly Hills, Calif., where she and her husband designed and built the home they lived in for 37 years. She also lived in Dordogne, France, and Scottsdale, Ariz. Mrs. Ellenberger devoted her life to her artwork, her husband and her family. She loved cooking, gardening, her many friends and her dogs. Mrs. Ellenberger is survived by her husband; a son, Michael Ellenberger and his wife Mary of Longmont; a daughter, Dana Martell of Malibu, Calif.; a brother, Chris "Babe" Heinsbergen Jr. and his wife Helen of Vista, Calif.; a sister-in-law, Edith Zona of Dallas; and two grandsons, Jack and Buck Ellenberger. Visitation will be held 6 to 8 p.m. today, Friday, Aug. 3, at Howe Mortuary, Longmont. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 4, at the Berthoud Bed and Breakfast, 444 First St., with Tom Shirk officiating. Interment will follow at the Berthoud Cemetery, Berthoud, with a reception at the Berthoud Bed and Breakfast following interment.     3. Freda Overhiser Freda Overhiser, 92, of Greeley, died Saturday, Aug. 4, at Bonell Good Samaritan Center. She was born May 7, 1909, in Timnath to John and Louise (Erdman) Schaefer. She married Dell Curtis in January 1929 in Windsor. He died in January 1948. On Aug. 12, 1950, she married Barney Overhiser in Windsor. He died May 15, 1989. Mrs. Overhiser and her husband lived in many areas of northern Colorado as part of his construction work. In 1974, they retired and moved to Greeley. She was a member of Fern Chapter No. 94 O.E.S., Windsor American Legion Auxiliary and a former member of Trinity Episcopal Church. There are no survivors. Her brothers, John, Jacob, Carl, Gus and Henry Schaefer and her sister, Anna Ulseth, are deceased. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Windsor Memorial Chapel. Interment will be in Lakeview Cemetery.

    3. Posted on Monday, August 06 Greeley Tribune Greeley,Colorado Reinhold Schmidt Reinhold Schmidt, 86, of Greeley died Sunday, Aug. 5, in the Centennial Health Care Center. He was born Sept. 10, 1914, in Loveland to Federick and Horst Schmidt. He married Mollie Schnorr on Jan. 5, 1937, in Windsor. Mr. Schmidt was a retired farmer and rancher from the Briggsdale area. He enjoyed Producers Livestock Sales and spending time in the dryland pasture. In his later years, he enjoyed spending time with his special friend, Rachel Grauberger. He enjoyed eating out at restaurants, and he liked farm and cattle auctions. He grew up on his family's homestead in Orchard and later purchased 650 acres of pastureland across the road from where he had played as a child. He was a member of the Weld County Livestock Association, Farm Bureau, Colorado Cattleman's Association and the First United Methodist Church. Survivors are a daughter, Sharon Cropper of Greeley; a special friend, Rachel Grauberger; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Mollie; a son, Leroy "Henry" Schmidt; a daughter, Charlene Schmidt; five sisters and two brothers. Friends may visit from 4-8 p.m. today at the Stoddard Funeral Home. Services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home chapel. Interment will be in Linn Grove Cemetery. She was born March 17, 1916, in Windsor to Henry and Elizabeth (Schmidt) Wamboldt. On Oct. 31, 1937, she married Herman Petrie in Greeley. He died in January 1971. Mrs. Petrie was raised in Windsor and lived there until 1937. She lived in Greeley until 1943, in Portland, Ore., until 1945, and had lived in Denver since 1957. She was a sales clerk with F.W. Woolworth in downtown Denver for 23 years and retired in 1981. She loved to take trips, sew, read and she adored her family and friends. Survivors are a daughter, Kay Hoeckel of Lakewood; a son, Lonnie Petrie of Denver; four sisters, Tillie Denike, Freida Eastwood, Anna Kammerzell and Dorothy March, all of Greeley; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and three stepgreat-grandchildren.     3. I think he might have been German from Russia Greeley Tribune Greeley, Co 07-31-01 Edward Heiser Edward D. Heiser, 85, of Greeley died Sunday, July 29, at Life Care Center in Greeley. Mr. Heiser was born Nov. 20, 1916, in Windsor to Carl and Christina (Schuman) Heiser. In June 1941, he married Vyrl Timothy in Greeley. Mr. Heiser moved to Greeley at a very young age and graduated from Greeley High School in 1937. He enlisted in the Army in 1942 and was stationed in the Aleutian Islands, Alaska, in the Corps of Engineers. He was honorably discharged in October 1945. He was as a salesman for Jerome Company and retired in 1981. Mr. Heiser enjoyed rodeos, playing pool, wood-working and building projects. He was a life member of VFW Pioneer Post 2121 in Greeley and a member of St. Paul’s Congregational Church. Survivors are his daughter, Jeannie Jones of Greeley; one sister, Mable Heiser of Greeley; one granddaughter, Christy Drake of Greeley; one stepgranddaughter, Heather Jones of Greeley; one grandson, Shane Buxman of Greeley; two great-granddaughters, MaKena and Madisyn Drake, both of Greeley. Dorn, 86, of Greeley died Thursday, July 26, at the Hospice and Palliative Care of Northern Colorado inpatient unit. He was born April 2, 1915, in Elliott, N.D., to Jacob and Katherine (Rossman) Dorn. On Dec. 10, 1936, he married Esther Alles at St. Paul’s Congregational Church in Greeley. She died May 20, 2000. When he was a year old, Mr. Dorn moved with his family to Leader, Saskatchewan, Canada. When he was 9, the family moved to Lisbon, N.D. In October 1928, the family moved to Greeley. They became members of St. Paul’s, where Mr. Dorn was confirmed in 1931. Mr. Dorn started farming northeast of Kersey in 1938 and farmed there for eight years. The couple later moved to the Auburn District southeast of Greeley, where they farmed for 17 years. They moved to Greeley in 1963. Mr. Dorn continued farming with a brother for 18 years and then worked for various farmers until he retired. Survivors are a son, Wayne Dorn, a granddaughter, Tracy Hettinger, a grandson, Mike Dorn, and a great-granddaughter, Taylor Hettinger, all of Greeley; and a brother, Dan Dorn of Goodland, Kan. A daughter Cindy, two sisters and a brother are deceased. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Paul’s, 1525 43rd Ave. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens. She was born March 17, 1921, in Fort Collins to George and Eva (Reichert) Frank. On Jan. 11, 1940, she married Victor Manweiler in Kimball, Neb. He died July 24, 1989. Mrs. Manweiler loved arts and crafts. She and her husband tended their rose garden. She enjoyed doing things for the church and was active in the community until she contracted multiple sclerosis. Mrs. Manweiler owned Helen’s Beauty Shop and ran it for 30 years until MS forced her to retire. She was a member of Ault Congregational Church and the Seniors Club in Ault. Survivors are a daughter, Connie Barron of Evansville, Ind.; a son, Richard Manweiler of Ault; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. A sister, Wilma Carter, and a brother, Walter Frank, as well as her parents, are deceased. She was 81. She was born Jan. 7, 1920, in Fort Collins, to Jake N. and Mollie Ginder Rodenberg. Her parents emigrated from Russia but were of German heritage. On Jan. 19, 1939, she married Henry R. Schneider in Denver. A farm wife most of her life, Mrs. Schneider also worked for Red-Dale Campers and Pfizer Inc. She retired at age 72. She lived all of her adult life in Longmont. She enjoyed gardening, and people often stopped at her house to admire her beautiful flower garden. She had a special relationship with her grandson Max. She was preceded in death by her husband; a son, Allen; two sisters, Lillian "Fernie" Gerze and Rosie Fennel; and a brother, Albert Rodenberg. Mrs. Schneider is survived by five sons, Dallas Schneider and his wife Marge, Jerry Schneider and his wife Margaret, Ronald "Jim" Schneider, Dennis Schneider and David Schneider, all of Longmont; a daughter, Susan Judson and her husband Jon of Longmont; 13 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren. OLMSTEAD: Nov. 14, 1928 —July 21, 2001 Blanche Olmstead of Fargo, N.D., died Saturday, July 21, 2001, at Meritcare Hospital in Fargo. She was 72. She was born Blanche Lytle on Nov. 14, 1928, in Antler, N.D. She grew up there and graduated from high school in 1946. She married Stephen L. Olmstead on Sept. 4, 1947, in Crookston, Minn. The couple moved to Larimore, N.D., and lived there until 1950 when they moved to Antler, N.D. She worked as a substitute teacher and farmed with her husband. In 1954, they moved to West Fargo, N.D. She worked as a waitress at the M&J Brand Steak House for eight years until the couple moved to Longmont in 1970. She was a secretary for the family business, Olmstead Well Service, in Longmont for 12 years. The couple retired and moved to Fargo in 1996. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Truman and Walter; and by two sisters, Lila and Leona. She is survived by her husband of Fargo; four children, Stephen E. Olmstead and his wife Janet of Fargo, Diana L. Darby and her husband Michael of Longmont, Bryan Olmstead and his wife Maria of Raton, N.M., Karen M. Fazio and her husband Brian of Longmont; a brother, Albert Lytle of Longmont; three sisters, Beatrice Beckedahl of Sherwood, N.D., Lottie Lozensky and Irene Zahn and her husband Marvel, all of Westhope, N.D.; 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.     3. Fort Morgan Times Fort Morgan, Co 07-25-01 Ernest E. Devlin dies at 76 Ernest E. Devlin, 76, formerly of Wray, died Saturday at his home in Colorado Springs. Devlin was born May 8, 1925, on a farm near Laird to Bernard F. and Anna (Freund) Devlin. He attended the Laird, Vernon and Wray Schools, graduating in 1943. Upon graduation from high school he served a short term of duty with the Merchant Marines before joining the Army in April of 1944. Service with the Army included a tour of duty in the European Theater of Operations as a combat engineer with Gen. Patton's Third Army troops. Following his Army discharge in April, 1946, he worked at miscellaneous jobs in the Wray area. He was united in marriage to Donna F. Stone on Nov. 3, 1946. Devlin was employed by the Sterling Production Credit Association on May 1, 1948, as a bookkeeper. He soon was promoted to the position of field representative and then vice president and treasurer. He became president of the Northwest Kansas Production Credit Association at Colby, Kan., in 1969. In 1973 he transferred to the Field Service Division of the Federal Intermediate Credit Bank of Wichita, Kan., serving as its field officer for Colorado with headquarters in Loveland. In 1975 he returned to the Sterling Production Credit Association to manage their newly opened field office in Yuma. Two years later the Colorado Springs Production Credit Association hired him as its president, a position he held until retiring after 36 years of service with the Farm Credit System. Davlin held life memberships in the VFW Lodge No. 4671 at Wray and the BPOE Lodge No. 1336 in Sterling. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant brother and sister and another brother, Gerald Devlin, who was killed in action near Florence, Italy, in 1944. He is survived by his wife, Donna of Colorado Springs; three sons: Dennis Devlin of Berthoud, Berne Devlin of Columbia, Mo., and Terry Devlin of Colorado Springs; three daughters: Joan Eylar of Denver, Marilyn Kersenbrock of Colby, Kan., and Tracey Hammond of Wapiti, Wyo.; a brother: Donald Devlin of Fort Collins; two sisters: Dorothy DeVore and Bernice Blanco, both of Loveland; 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one's choice.     2. Fort Morgan Times Fort Morgan, Co 07-25-01 Shirley Kammerzell dies Shirley J. Kammerzell, 66, longtime resident of Fort Morgan, died Monday at Porter Hospital in Denver. Mrs. Kammerzell was born April 8, 1935, in Milliken to Henry and Emily Weber. She moved to Morgan County more than 50 years ago. On Feb. 5, 1956, she married Marvin C. Kammerzell in Greeley at St. Paul's Congregational Church. The Kammerzells farmed together early in their lives, and on Jan. 5, 1981, they opened the Knobhill Pawn Shop which they operated together for 20 years. She was a devout Christian and had attended the United Methodist Church in Fort Morgan and also the Wiggins Community Church. She was a devoted grandmother, mother and supportive wife. She loved to garden and provided fresh fruit and vegetables for her family. For many years she was an active member of the Morgan County Cattleman's Association and served a term as president of the CattleWomen's Association. Survivors include her husband, Marvin of Fort Morgan; one son, Michael Kammerzell of St. Louis, Mo.; two daughters, Debra Polansky of Fort Morgan and Denice Wagner of Orchard; three brothers: Duane Weber of Raton, N.M., Keith Weber of Wiggins and Larry Weber of Wheatland, Wyo.; one sister, Maudie Weber of State College, Pa., and five grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents. Funeral services will be Thursday at 10 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Fort Morgan. Interment will follow in Memory Gardens.     3. I believe she was German from Russia Loveland newspaper Loveland, Colorado 07-23-01 CORDELL: Anna M. Cordell, 82, of Loveland, died June 28, 2001, at her home. She was born Dec. 6, 1918, in Hartford, S.D., to Wulf and Matilda Schumacher Schiernbeck. In 1920 she moved with her parents to a farm southeast of Watertown. She went to a country school and graduated from the eighth grade and then helped her parents on the farm. She married Charles N. Cordell of Watertown on Nov. 10, 1937. They lived on a farm southeast of Watertown until 1968, when they moved to Loveland. Her husband died April 8, 1982, after an extended illness. Mrs. Cordell was employed for eight years at the Loveland Pottery Factory, two years at Teledyne Water-Pik and 7 years at Hewlett-Packard in Fort Collins. She retired from Hewlett-Packard in October 1986. She was a member of St. John's Catholic Church. She enjoyed working in her garden and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She is survived by three sons, Frank and wife Geneva of Watertown, Vincent and wife Sharon of Watertown, and Charles and wife Fran of Loveland; seven daughters, Mary Flemming of Watertown, Barbara Weber and husband Carl of Watertown, Laretta Kranz and husband Brian of Kranzburg, S.D., Audrey Parsons of Castlewood, S.D., Anna Mae Griffith and husband Michael of Loveland, Veronica Brown and husband Jerry of Loveland, and Rose Finch and husband Lewis of Loveland; brother Hans Schiernbeck of Sibley, Iowa; sister Rowena Parsly of Riverside, Calif.; 31 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Florence; three brothers; seven sisters; two grandsons; and one great-granddaughter. Funeral services were held July 7 at the Immaculate Conception Church in Watertown. Burial was at St. Mary's Cemetery in Watertown. Pallbearers were Gregory Cordell, William Cordell, Douglas Kranz, Jason Weber, Neal Davis and Travis Cordell. Grandsons and granddaughters were honorary pallbearers. Mass servers were Darren Cordell and Brent Cordell. An outdoor memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Aug. 4 at the Cordell family home at 920 W. Seventh St. in Loveland. The Rev. Joseph Hartmann will officiate. A luncheon for neighbors and friends will be served following the service.

    3. Loveland newpaper Loveland, Colorado 07-23-01 REICHERT: Jack J. Reichert, 86, of Fort Collins died at his home July 19, 2001, surrounded by family. He was born Jan. 1, 1915 in Fort Collins to Henry and Elizabeth Reichert. He grew up on a farm southeast of Fort Collins and attended Fort Collins public schools. He married Wilma Propp in 1937. She died in 1984. He later married Eleanor (Sally) Propp, who died in 1994. For a number of years, he owned and operated his own trucking business, and was later employed by Sterling Companies. He retired from there in 1981, then worked part time for four years at the Colorado State University in the Industrial Arts Department. He enjoyed traveling, woodworking, alabaster craftsmanship and gardening. His happiest times were spend with family and friends and volunteering at church. He was a lifelong member of Immanuel Christian Reformed Church, where until his death, he held the longest standing membership. He is survived by sons: Robert and wife Mary of Turlock, Calif. and Donald and wife Gale of Fort Collins; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one step-grandson; and numerous nieces and nephews. A service of celebration and memory will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday at Immanuel Christian Reformed Church, 1900 S. Taft Hill Road in Fort Collins. Viewing at Bohlender Funeral Chapel will be 1-7 p.m. today. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Immanuel Christian Reformed Church building fund or church music fund.

    3. I believer German from Russia Fort Morgan Times Fort Morgan, Colorado 07-23-01 Shirley L. Dean, 78, died Friday at the Sunset Manor Nursing Center in Brush. Mrs. Dean was born Aug. 5, 1922, in Denver to George and Cricket Schelling. On Aug. 30, 1946, in Denver she married James L. Dean. Mrs. Dean worked extensively in the Democratic Party and did volunteer work for many organizations. She is survived by two sons, David Carey of Denver and Dennis Carey of Lakewood; one daughter, Barbara Vallentine of Jacksonville, Ala.; one sister, Myrtle Brumbach of Highlands Ranch, and four grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, three brothers, two sisters and her parents. A memorial service will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the St. Mary's Catholic Church, 340 Stanford St. in Brush. McCorkle, 85, longtime resident of Fort Morgan, died Friday at the Colorado Plains Medical Center in Fort Morgan. She was born Feb. 25, 1916, in Fort Morgan to Conrad and Anna Hein. She married Floyd S. McCorkle in Fort Morgan in 1937. Except for a couple of years when they lived in Denver, she and her husband lived in the Fort Morgan area. He died in 1989. She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church and was very active in the church when she was younger. Gardening was one of her hobbies, and she liked to sew. She made clothing for her children and taught them how to embroider. She is survived by one daughter, Virginia Weber of Denver; one grandson and two granddaughters. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and two daughters. Funeral services will be Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at the Trinity Lutheran Church. Interment will follow in Riverside Cemetery.     3. Fort Morgan Times Fort Morgan, Colorado 07-19-01 village unknown Herman Lauck dies at 73 Herman Lauck, 73, longtime resident of Fort Morgan, died Tuesday at the Veterans Hospital in Denver. Lauck was born on May 21, 1928, in Brush to David and Amalia Lauck. Lauck farmed southeast of Fort Morgan for awhile and during his life worked overseas for the Allis-Chalmers Corp., was an EMT, a supervisor at the Great Western Sugar Factory and also was an accomplished carpenter. Lauck was in the Navy and served on a submarine during his time in the service. He was a lifetime member of the VFW. He was also a very active member of the Senior Center in Fort Morgan where he enjoyed playing pool and also fixing things around the center. He liked to fish and could also tell a pretty good fish tale. He is survived by his wife, Evelyn of Fort Morgan; four daughters: Diane Golgard of Arvada, Carolyn Clontz of Bend, Ore., Lynn Ann Lauck of Littleton and Marlene Blesch of Denver; four stepchildren: Darrel Smith of Denver, Penny Morgan and Delores Bramley of Thornton and Danny Smith of Sterling; four sisters: Ruth Weimer of Fort Morgan, Dorothy Johnson of Northglenn, Elsie Renner of Glendora, Calif., and Pauline Henderson of Greybull, Wyo.; two brothers, Ben Lauck of Fort Morgan and Sam Lauck of Arvada; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, two sisters and three brothers. A memorial service will be held Friday at 10 a.m. at the Community Church in Log Lane.
