    3. Longmont Newspaper Longmont, Colorado 09-22-01 Edna Schellhammer July 9, 1909 — Sept. 18, 2001 Edna Schellhammer of Longmont died Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2001, at Longmont United Hospital. She was 92. She was born July 9, 1909, in Nunn, Colo., to Edgar B. and Annie A. (Loach) Reinhart. On June 30, 1930, she married Arthur Johnson. He preceded her in death in 1953. She later married Henry Schellhammer in 1955. He preceded her in death in 1981. Mrs. Schellhammer worked as a chief long-distance operator in Denver in 1929 and 1930. She drove a school bus in Tungsten, Colo., in the 1940s and served as the postal clerk in Nederland from 1947 to 1952. She then worked for the Public Service Co. of Colorado for 20 years, retiring in 1976. She also served as an election judge for a number of years. She was a member of the South Broadway Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Fifth Ward, Boulder, where she was active with the relief society. She also was a member of the Eastern Star Lodge of Boulder. In addition to her husbands, Mrs. Schellhammer was preceded in death by a son, Robert Johnson, in 1942; and two sisters, Annie Bailey and Catherine O'Brian. She is survived by two sons, Charles Johnson of Reliance, Wyo., and Bill Johnson of Lowville, N.Y.; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 22, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, located on Table Mesa Drive in Boulder. Interment will follow at the Green Mountain Cemetery, Boulder. Visitation will be held at the church, one hour prior to the service. Howe Mortuary, Longmont, is in charge of arrangements.

    3. Greeley Tribune Greeley, Colorado 09-22-01 Henry “Hank” Fritzler, 92, of Greeley died Monday, Sept. 17, at his home. He was born Sept. 12, 1909, in Windsor to Henry and Mollie (Schneider) Fritzler. On Feb. 24, 1940, he married Ruth “Billie” Venable in Kimball, Neb. She died June 21, 1984. Mr. Fritzler farmed near Windsor and sold cars in Ault before moving to California. He lived near San Francisco, where he was a carpenter for two years. He returned to Greeley in 1949. He worked for Wells Motors and Edwards Chevrolet in Weld County. He was a member of the First Congregational Church. Survivors are a daughter, Barbara E. Mulholland of Scottsdale, Ariz.; a son, Dean A. Fritzler of Lakewood; three sisters, Elma Schlothaur of San Diego, Eleanor Shewmaker of Wheat Ridge and Molly Wilson of Cheyenne; two brothers, Carl Fritzler and Edward Fritzler, both of Greeley; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. His parents, four sisters and a brother are deceased. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the First Congregational Church. Interment will be in Lakeview Cemetery, Windsor. Friends may visit from 2-7 p.m. Monday at the Allnutt Funeral Service Macy Chapel.     3. Journal-Advocate Sterling, Colorado 09-21-01 Elmer Conrad Amen, 75, of Merino, died Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2001 in Merino. Visitation will be from noon until 8 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 23, at Chaney-Reager Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. on Monday, Sept., 24, at Chaney-Reager with Herman Albrandt officiating. Military graveside rites by American Legion Post No. 20 will be at Riverside Cemetery. Mr. Amen was born on May 18, 1926 to Jacob and Katherine (Fritzler) Amen in Logan County. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II, from December 1944 until November 1946, as a sergeant in the medical unit in Okinawa. He lived in Atwood until 1952, when he moved to Crook. He farmed in the area, moving to Proctor in 1956. He continued farming through the years, moving to Merino in 1970, where he resided until his death. Mr. Amen is survived by three sisters, Mildred Albrandt and husband Herman of Sterling, Donna Koehler and husband Arlen and Judy Scheuerman and husband Larry, all of Windsor; two brothers, Ed Amen and wife Carol of Merino and Jim Amen and wife Beth of Windsor; numerous nieces and nephews; great-nieces and nephews; and great-great-nieces and nephews. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association.

She was born March 27, 1917, in Fort Morgan to Henry and Anna Becker Schreiner. She attended Fort Morgan schools graduating from Fort Morgan High School with the Class of 1934. On May 2, 1941, she was married to B. Lafe Holden in Cheyenne, Wyo. While her husband was in the Navy, she was employed in Fort Morgan for Clark Feather Mfg. Co. Following her husband's stint in the service, they moved to Hudson where she lived until 1979 when she moved to Fort Morgan to live at Hillcrest. She was a charter member of the Keenesburg American Legion Auxiliary Unit No. 180. Mrs. Holden is survived by numerous nieces and nephews and their families. She was preceded in death by her parents; four sisters: Mollie Weimer, Anna Schauermann, Marie Hoke and Kathrine Graeb, and two brothers: Henry and David Schreiner. At her request there will be no memorial service; private family inurnment will take place at Serenity Falls.
