    2. Dear Lister; In doing the extractions for the Germans from Russia from the 1920 U.S. Federal Census you come across some really interesting facts. I hadn't realized until someone asked what the dates of the enumeration was that different States took the census at different times. I went back through the ones that I have done and found that Colorado did their's in January and Febraury; Nebraska in June; Washington in March through May; Montana in Febrary through April. That gives you a wide range of times when a family could be moving from one place to the other and actually miss the census taker all together. Especially if they moved from on state that took their census in the summer to a state that took theirs in the late winter. It also makes you wonder how many families and individuals were missed altogether because of this taking place. I also don't know when the Census began to be taken at the same time as it is now. Gene Jenkins Selah, WA.

I am particularly interested in seeing if I can track down an arm of the Hein family that I think settled in Colorado. They would be relatives of Jacob Hein who immigrated with wife Anna Marie Bauer Hein in 1900. They left from Frank with destination Seattle. I believe Jacob's father and possible other siblings ended up in Colorado. 2. To All Lister, You will soon notice a change that I have done as far as the list goes. I for one receive a lot of e-mails. I find that it is very helpful in deciding which ones that I will deal with first to have a prefix in the subject box to know who it is from. The Volga German Mailing List does this with a GV in the subject box. I have decided to use Rus-Frank for this list. This will automatically appear on all messages thus allowing all of us to know immediate the origin of the e-mail. Thanks, Gene Jenkins List Adminstrator

I'm not collecting it for AHSGR, instead this is just a list of anyone who owns a chart for Germans From Russia........you do not need to be a member of any society (AHSGR or GRHS, etc). I keep this list for anyone who wants to check to make sure a chart is not on order or held by someone already, and also so that others might "order" charts from the person who owns the chart.
