Hello, Group----- I would like to thank everyone for the help you've given me in my hunt for my orphan, JAMES W. G. RUDD. At this moment he is still an orphan, though we have had a good lead or two, he has not found his home yet. For a refresher, he was born in North Carolina about 1815. Possibly Caswell County. His wife on the 1840 census was MALINDA, born also about 1815, in NC. The 1850 census called her "SINDY". Maybe a nickname? Their first son was HENRY CLAY RUDD, born about 1840-41, in Cherokee Co., GA. There were several other children, all born in Cherokee Co., before they moved to Shelby Co., AL., in 1859-60.
