I checked through a descendants list of John Rudd, b abt 1645 who came to VA in 1663, who became Capt. of the "Hopewell", a 300 ton sailing ship that carried tobacco to England and returned with staple goods for the settlers. Your people are connected to this line. This line of descendants of Capt. John Rudd is kept by Hugh Rudd. He is in the process of publishing a history/genealogy of this line.
