    3. Silas(6) Rudd [Jr.] was born 16 Nov. 1786, Middletown, Rutland Co., VT; parents were Silas and Phebe (Herrick) Rudd. By the 1810 census Silas [Jr.] appears to be married as he appears in Middletown with the following listing: one male 16-26, one female under 10, one female 16-26. In 1820, he is in Ira, Rutland Co., VT with one male under 10, one male 26-45, two females under 10, one female 10-16, one female 26-45. In 1830, he is back in Middletown, with one male 10-15, one male 40-50, one female under 5, two females 5-10, one female 10-15, one female 40-50. He sells his property in Middletown in March 1835 (MVR 7:212). At the time of signing he was of Granville, Washington Co., NY. He is listed in the 1835 Granville, Washington Co., NY census with two males, two females--one male old enough to vote, one female under 16. He is in the 1840 Burritt, Winnebago Co., IL census with one male 20-30, one male 50-60 and one female 50-60. I believe his wife may have been named Almina, as an Almina Rudd is a member of the Middletown Baptist Church, leaves that and joins a church in Granville and later leaves that. Silas got quite a lot of land in Burritt by federal land grants. I believe his son may have been named Chapman Rudd as a man by that names marries a Betsey Rodd, 29 Sept. 1842 in Winnebago Co., IL. He may have died in a few years as Mrs. Betsey Rudd marries Calvin A. Hemenway, 3 Sept. 1848, Winnebago Co., IL. Perhaps Almina's last name might have been Chapman??? I would like to know what happened to all the daughters of Silas and Almina Rudd. Some may have married back in Rutland Co., VT, one may have married in Granville, or I suppose they might all have died young. There appear to have been about six daughters and one son. I have more information on this family, if anyone is interested. Joann Nichols [email protected]
