Janet had wondered about this Martha Rudd born 5 Jan. 1802. The last time I was in Middlesex, I checked to see what I could find. Her father is listed as John Rudd, and it is recorded in Middletown, Vol. 1, p. 1, B&D. I found a marriage recorded in Middletown for a Mary Ann Rudd to an Andrew Youngs, 31[sic] Nov. 1839, by Orson Clark, j.p. Does anyone know who this is? A few weeks ago I was in the Bennington Town Clerk's office and found the following items in their town records, p. 269: Joseph Rudd and Sarah Story was joined together in the bonds of Matrimony by _________ on the 28 day of Sept. 1768. Selinda Rudd, the daughter of Joseph Rudd and Sarah, his wife was born the 6th Augt. 1769. Jeremiah Rudd, son to Joseph Rudd and Sarah, his wife, was born June 11th 1773. Sarah Rudd, daughter to Joseph Rudd and Sarah, his wife, was born 30th May 1775. Joseph Rudd, son to Joseph Rudd and Sarah, his wife, was born 13th April 1777. Lucy Rudd, son[sic] to Jospeh Rudd and Sarah, his wife, was born 10th March 1779. Enos Rudd, son to Joseph Rudd and Sarah, his wife, was born 12th March 1781. Martha [this might be Matthew] Rudd, son[?] to Joseph Rudd and Sarah, his wife, was born June 28, 1783. David Rudd, son to Joseph Rudd and Sarah, his wife, was born 16 March 1786.Bennington, 8th Jan. 1787, Mr. Joseph Rudd departed this life in the 79 year of his age. Died Jeremiah Rudd, son to Joseph Rudd and Sarah, his wife, on the 26th Sept. 1788 in the 16th year of his age. Sarah Rudd died Oct. 11 A.D. 1842. Joseph Rudd died May 25, 1813. [1818 is written after this] Page 271: 1778, Aug. 13, John Rudd and Chloe Hills were joined together in the Banns of marriage. 1779, June 10th, John Rudd, Jur, Son to John Rudd and Chloe, his wife, was born. 1780, Oct. 4th, Lois Rudd, daughter to John Rudd and Chloe, his wife, was born. 1782, July 12th, Cyprian Rudd, son to John Rudd and Chloe, his wife, was born. 1784, Novr. 28th, Semanthe Rudd and Amanda Rudd, Daughters to John Rudd and Chloe, his wife, was born. 1787, June 22nd, Erastus Rudd, Son to John Rudd and Chloe, his wife was born. 1789, Jan.y, Anson Rudd, son to John Rudd and Chloe, his wife, was born.
