Guess this is mainly to Celia! Celia, as one of the daughters of Johnson you have listed the Martha born 5 Jan. 1802. As I posted on 2 July, I found at the vital records that this Martha was a daughter of John Rudd, born in Middletown. This John was married to Zilpha Warner and lived in Middletown until they were excluded from the Baptist Church there in 1805. Do you think the daughter who should fit in that space for Johnson could be a Lucy Rudd? Earlier this afternoon I posted a query about her; she supposedly married a Rexford Wittum. I have a friend who lives in Montpelier and does high grade research. About 14 years ago at a Genealogical Society of Vermont meeting I had posted a query about my Rudd line. She was able to provide me with a lot of information which has come in handy over the years. She was doing research for a man descended from this Wittum/Rudd line. She figured Lucy must be a daughter of Johnson, but she had also listed Martha as a daughter. But Martha is definitely a daughter of John, not Johnson. This John is a son of Silas(5) and Phebe (Herrick) Rudd. Alice sent me a list of the children of Rexford and Lucy (Rudd) Wittum. They are: Sylvester, Julian, Jordan (Rexford), Jr., Jula An, Sumanth, Benjamin, Denison Herck, Luman, Moses, Harlon B.M., Winfield Scott. Seeing the name Denison Herck makes me wonder, could it be Herrick? If so, it would be wonderful. Tracing back what I think is Phebe Herrick's line, she had a brother Denison Herrick. The Herrick and Denisons married a couple of generations back. Alice will try to contact the client she had about 15 years ago to see if he is still interested, still living, etc. But it sounds logical to me. Everybody, tell me what you think! Joann
