Hi, Denise and other cousins that may not know the answer either! In early New England anyway, towns sort of automatically informed newcomers that if they couldn't make it on their own, the town wouldn't be responsible for them. Many times they stayed and became valuable citizens of the town. Not sure about Eunice and her husbands, though! My Increase and Lydia Rudd were warned out of both Middletown and Ira at various times.
