Hope someone recognizes Vincent Rudd and the names of any children. She is descended from a probable son, Asa. Maybe you can forward this for me. I'm still working on Vincent Rudd. I really believe that he is Asa's father. This is what I have deduced so far. In the 1830 census, Vincent was living in Onondaga Co., NY. He was married and had two sons and one daughter under the age of 5. I assume he was married around 1825. In the 1840 census he was living in Switzerland Co., IN and had one son 5-10, two sons 10-15, two daughters under 5 and one daughter 5-10. In the 1850 census, Vincent is in Will Co., IL living with William and Mary Nelson. I belive Mary is his oldest daughter. There is also an Erastus Rudd, age 6 in the household. I believe this is Vincent's youngest son. My theory is that Vincent's wife died either in childbirth with Erastus or when he was very young. By 1850, all of Vincent's children except Erastus were sent to live with Aunts and Uncles. Asa, age 18 went to live with Aunt Olive and Asa McDonald. Asa would have been the son 5-10 in the 1840 census. The oldest son John, age 22, went to live with his uncle Barak. The second son Benjamin, age 21, went to live with his Uncle Sanford. The youngest daughter Olive, age 15, was living with O.W. Stillman. There should be another daughter but I don't know who she is. There is a marriage listed for Vincent Rudd in 1848 to Rhoda Crocker. This may have been a second marriage for Vincent but something must have happened between 1848 and 1850 since Vincent is living with his daughter then. I can't find any trace of Vincent after the 1850 census. I believe that the youngest son Erastus is living with his uncle Erastus in the 1860 census. With seven children, you would think that there is another descendent somewhere who is researching this family. There are so many new members. Does anyone recognize any of these people?
