Thanks everyone for the info on MARVERICK/MAVERICK. His gravestone reads : MARVERICK RUDD d. Nov 3, 1865 Aged 76yrs It is located in the Pioneer Cemetery in Myrtle Ck, Douglas, Or. His age at time of death doesn't match with the 1796 birthdate, but neither does the name--so who knows. I hope to pursue this further. I have yet to find anything about where his wife died. None of the family remembers hearing anything about her. The Oregon Census (1860) for Douglas Co. lists: MACK RUDD 64/ m Vermont MARIAH 57/ f Vermont Do you think there is a chance she (Mariah) moved down to the Rough Valley (Medford area) to be with her relations after her husband died?
