Hi, Cousins, I have recently received a whole lot of material from Dorothy DuMond, one of our newer cousins on the list. She is the author of the genealogy about Joseph(4) Rudd and Sarah Story. One of the items she sent me is a will for Barker F. Rudd; Barker was a son of Barak and Abigail (McHuron/Mahurin) Rudd. Here is the will: In the Name of God Amen. I Barker F. Rudd of Township of Newberg in the County of Cass and State of Michigan being of sound mind and memory, and considering the uncertainty of this frail and trasitory life, do therefore make, ordain, publish, and declare this to be my last will and Testament. That is to say, First, after all my lawful debts are paid and discharged the residue of my Estate I give, bequeath, and dispose of as follows to wit, to my Son Nelson B. Rudd Eight acres out of the South East corner of the North East Quarter of the South East Quarter of Section Six in Town Six South of Range Thirteen west described as follows, commencing at the South East corner of the above description running thence North forty rods, thence West thirty two rods thence South forty rods, thence East to the place of beginning, the remainder of the above description of real Estate, to my Daughters Harriet A. and Abbigal Jane and Candace and Alice E. to be equally divided between my four daughters above named. Also to my son Barak L. Rudd the sum of Five Dollars. Also my son Nelson B. Rudd is to have the use and control of the above described land for the term of Five years after my death or during the lifetime of my wife Lucinda Rudd. Likewise I make constitute and appoint Barak L. Rudd and Nelson B. Rudd and James M. Chapman to be executors of this my last will and testament, hereby revoking all former wills by me made.
