My guess is Jonathan Rudd of Connecticut. Joann Nichols ShirleyCalhoun wrote: > Hi Everyone, > Can someone tell me who the first Rudd was in America? By that I mean, the earliest time,a Rudd came to America? > Thanks, > Shirley
I don't have any records of it myself but it seems there was a Thomas Rudd that came over for an inspection trip. He had been commissioned by the King to oversee fortifications for the frontier. He did not stay. It is my suspicion, eventhough, unfounded that Jonathan could have come with him on one of his trips. There is no verifiable connection between Jonathan and Thomas however..
