I am sorry not to have responded earlier, but my wife and I have just returned to our home in Bethlehem, PA, after attending Edward's funeral in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. Edward (known as Ed to us) was my wife's brother. His father was Edward Charles Rudd, who was born in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, May 6, 1887. His mother was Bertha Smale, born in Canada in 1892. I obviously have quite a bit more on this family, but I posted a query about Edward's (and my wife's) grandfather, Joshua, quite some time ago with no response. He was born in Ireland and settled in Michigan, where he homesteaded in the late 1800s. We have not really been able to connect with more of this family, and my previous query turned out to be fruitless. Anyway, you did reach a relative!
