Celia-- I've checked in 'late' regarding your package which I received a couple of days ago. WWWWWOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWW!!!!!!!!!!!! I would never have imagined that I would ever have had access to all of this! I was stuck in Joliet, Illinois on the Rudd line until you and Joann broke it open for me!! As unhelpful as the folks are at the county records office in Joliet, I'd have never gotten anywhere, but you guys saved the day! I will be reading and enjoying this for quite a while. Let me know how much money you need for additional costs. (Are they still letting you use the photocopier, after all this????) <<<big grin>>> One thing I've noticed already, which is rather interesting. Several of the English references to the Rudds centered around an area called Westmorland. This is the same area where my Stephenson ancestry originated! It's no longer called that, it's now called Cumbria, and it is located in the northern part of the country, up towards the Scottish border. My Stephenson line lived up around Lake Windermere, and my great-great-grandfather was a sailor, probably as a result of sailing/ fishing on that lake. If we can solidly determine which line Jonathan came from in England, I can probably help dig further back, because I already have contacts over there. Of course, Randy (aka Eaglecod) can also pitch in. Anybody wanna go back further???? Kevin K.
